How do protons relate to elements?

        Protons are the positively charged subatomic particles in atoms that make up elements,yet protons aren't the only things in elements. There are also neutrons and electrons. Neutrons are the neutrally charged particles,which means they don't have any charge, that also make up the elements. Electrons are the negatively charged subatomic particles.
